Needed by nature
Wanted by habit, Oh Salt
Pickled me deadly
Ok, that might be a smidge dramatic. I've yet to master the whole silly part of this weekly exercise. Anyway, a lifetime of poor choices, coupled with a genetic one-two punch, has given me high blood pressure. Thing is, I'm a salt-a-holic. Nearly everything (pre-packaged) that I want to eat is sodium-laden. The only real answer is to stop with the "convenience" foods and eat real food.
I'm in the market for a good salt replacement... what do you recommend?

I have no brilliant insights, but I think I have a book I can send. Win!
Let's see if I can locate it in the massive mess of unpacked items I still have. Hold that thought.
Hmmm.... Mrs. Dash doesn't contain salt. Maybe you could use that to season food instead? That is pretty much the only idea I can come up with though!
Great haiku!
I was going to say Mrs. Dash also - there are at least a couple different variations you could try. I don't use much salt, but I am guilty of consuming too many convenience foods. Start a movement - I'll join in!
Oh yeah, and great haiku! Sometimes I feel like yanking the "Silly" out of the name, because most of the time we really aren't all that silly at all. BUT, I think we're stuck with it since it's all over the place now. :)
Great haiku! About salt!
Your haiku is so true!! (I think I rhyme better than I haiku lol). I also end up eating a lot of salt...it seems to be in everything! (even lunchmeat) Good luck trying to cut back!
I understand the need to cut back on salt, but I don't want to...
Great haiku lament :D
