Logo madness

This is my logo. It's the rabbit in the moon. There's a Buddhist/Indian tale that tells the story of a rabbit who sacrificed himself for the Buddha as an offering, jumping into a fire. It's the outline of the smoke we see in the moon (eastern cultures see a rabbit on the moon), or alternatively, the gods were so pleased with the rabbit's selflessness that they immortalized him by putting him in the moon. Whatever version of the story you find or choose, I find it inspiring and aim to live like that rabbit... willing to sacrifice for the good of others, for the happiness of others. Lofty goals for one little rabbit! I also selected a rabbit as my logo because I was born in the year of the rabbit and have rabbity characteristics. I also love rabbits and have been a houserabbit mom. I hope to be one again someday.

Anyway, this logo was designed by me (don't steal it, please!) and created by a lovely designer named Shannon Olyer on Etsy. She also created the matching blog buttons over there to the right.

One of the coolest things about having a little logo is all the cool things you can do with it. I use it as my photo/icon on a number of sites such as Twitter and Blogger and Etsy. Find me where you find my rabbit! Another cool thing is using it in print...

Just today I took the plunge and ordered POSTAGE with my little logo on it! POSTAGE! I think that's beyond cool. I also got some envelope seals and in the future may pick up some return address labels. I'm branching into the world of mail art and hope that my little rabbit will fit in among the art and identify my letters to my recipients before they even see the return address or open the letter. I hope it makes people smile.
