“Generosity is a house of goodness, for it draws in good people.” – Nagarjuna (a Buddhist scholar/saint)
I have FOUR of these lovely full-sized Love Stamp totes from the USPS that need good homes. Homes where they’ll be well-used for carrying parcels and letters to the post office. Homes where they’ll be used to haul veggies and fruits home from the market. Homes where they’ll head to Target for socks and head out with 110% more stuff than you anticipated buying. I’m holding this little drawing as a small thank you to all my friends who take the time to read the nonsense I write, and for the folks who send me the kindest cards and letters. I’m inspired by your generosity with your time and resources and feel blessed by your efforts.
You have FOUR chances to win! And there will be FOUR prizes! And if we're lucky, we'll get FOUR players. Your odds are looking good!!
1. Leave a comment about a time when someone else’s generosity warmed your heart and inspired you. It could be a time when someone was generous to you, or to others. Or just say hi.
2. Write me a card or letter telling me how you practice generosity. Do you volunteer your time or service to your community? Or maybe you keep in touch with a long lost friend or grandparent by letter to keep their spirits up? Do you spend Sunday afternoons with your family? Bring cookies to work for your co-workers? Tell me about it!
3. Send me scraps of colourful paper, fabric, ribbon, stickers, whatever you find. I’ve got a collection going for my developing collage and artcard habit. Make sure you note “for the tote!” with your correspondence. (You can combine numbers 2 and 3 in one envelope but it will still count as 2 entries.) Email me for my mailing address.
4. Support our letter-writing artist community! Visit Scoutaroo Paper, Missive Maven, La Papierre or Renee Leigh on Etsy (or for members, at the LWA store or LEP shop). Make a purchase as a gift, then come back and leave a comment. Tell us who you bought the gift for, and why.*
Contest deadline is Sunday, March 3rd. Open to US and International friends. (I realize international mail may not arrive before the deadline. If you’re mailing something from outside the US, please leave a comment letting me know your letter is on the way. Play by the honour system!) Please make sure I have a way of getting a hold of you should you win. Winners will be announced here on Monday March 4th.
*Gifts bought for me will be much appreciated but don’t increase your odds of winning. : )
(I know I said we were going to do a study of the Praises to the 21 Taras on Sundays but I’ve been working like mad and haven’t had the energy to give the project the attention it deserves. We’ll return to it when things return to normal.)

So many people in my life are generous... Many of my penpals, my friends, and especially my parents who helped me through unemployment with both financial help and love and support.
My faith community has been the recipients of incredible generosity in the past few weeks after a tornado practically demolished our church. Not only have we experienced generosity from the hundreds of people who volunteered to help us in the salvage and cleanup, but we have also been blessed by another church in the community that is letting us use their facility for meetings and activities.
I like that you're asking for a time someone was generous. It helps to stop and think, and I realize that there have been a lot of times! One really hot summer (we only had a small window A/C unit in our apartment), my aunt took my sister and I to stay in a hotel for the A/C and the pool! Also, recently, I had a penpal send me a journal (because I'm addicted!) and a T'was the Night Before Christmas book for my sister because I had told her that I give my sister one every Christmas.
Letters and art supplies coming your way! Unfortunately, you probably won't get them until the deadline has passed. Please keep me in the running for the giveaway, though!
